D.R.I.V.E. is designed for students and adults who have an intellectual disability. The program serves a variety of students with diverse needs.
Admission to D.R.I.V.E. for school age students is determined by their local school district. The local Committee on Special Education (CSE) must agree that D.R.I.V.E is an appropriate program and agree to fund a minimal tuition cost. There is no cost for attending D.R.I.V.E. for the students or their families.
School age students must be between the ages of 17 and 21. Most D.R.I.V.E. students have graduated from high school with an IEP diploma. All interested students must complete an application form and send it to the following address:
Director of Student Support Services
Penn Yan Central School District
Penn Yan, NY 14527
The local school district must send a copy of the student’s IEP to the same address.
